Cross Country

Today I had cross country. My feet were frozen at the starting line. All the year 8 boys were huddled together. Bang! The herd sprinted as fast as they could, pushing and shoving everyone in their way. Some people were get tired as we run to the slope. Down the hill we went trying to pass the people in front of us. Once we got to the bottom we had to go up a short, but steep, hill. It was a killer. We jogged around the playground and started to regain our speed. Around the hall and behind Rata, where  run up the low slope. Behind the bikes and back in front of the class rooms. Some people managed a sprint. As we came out from Manuka we could all hear the cheers. We did the same thing again, trying to keep our pace but get a few people ahead. I was almost out of breath as I did the last sprint. The teacher at the finish line gave me an orange card with number 108. I was proud, I didn't expect a score as low as that.
